About the Conference

The VIL International Conference on “Legal Aid and Access to Justice in the Era of AI and Technology” is scheduled for November 8, 2025. The conference aims to explore the intersection of law, technology, and social justice, focusing on how artificial intelligence and digital tools can transform access to justice in India and globally.

Access to justice is a cornerstone of democratic societies, enshrined in Articles 14, 21, 22(1), and 39A of the Indian Constitution. While legislative frameworks such as the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) have made notable progress, challenges remain in ensuring equitable access for all citizens.

This international conference serves as a platform for legal scholars, academicians, policymakers, technologists, and civil society members to deliberate on innovative and evidence-based strategies that can enhance legal aid systems using AI and digital advancements.

The event encourages scholarly dialogue and cross-disciplinary insights on legal technology, inclusion, and reforms for a future-ready justice system.
