Call for Papers – Apply Now for January 2026 Opportunity
About the Organization / University
The Austrian Association for Legal Linguistics (AALL) has announced an international Call for Papers for an interdisciplinary edited volume titled “Communicating Sustainability: Perspectives from International Law, Legal Linguistics, and Psychology.”
Founded to advance research at the intersection of law, linguistics, and social sciences, AALL promotes critical and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding how language shapes legal interpretation, policy discourse, and societal transformation.
This forthcoming edited volume, to be published by Frank & Timme, will be co-edited by Daniel Green (Croatia), Sarah Atkins (New Zealand), Karin Luttermann (Germany), and Waldemar Nazarov (France). It seeks to bring together voices from across disciplines — law, psychology, linguistics, and sustainability studies — to explore how communication influences the development, perception, and effectiveness of sustainability laws and policies.
By engaging with themes that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this publication creates an avenue for international scholars to contribute to transformative academic dialogue that redefines the relationship between law, language, and sustainability.
About the Call for Papers / Opportunity
This Call for Papers by AALL invites scholars, researchers, and professionals from law, linguistics, psychology, and sustainability-related fields to submit abstracts (250 words) for inclusion in this high-impact international publication.
The volume will focus on how legal communication and psychological processes influence the implementation, understanding, and public perception of sustainability legislation. Each chapter should ideally engage with one specific SDG, though authors are encouraged to indicate two or more SDGs they are willing to explore to ensure comprehensive coverage across all 17 goals.
Empirical, theoretical, or mixed-methods approaches are equally welcome. Contributions may analyze the communicative, cognitive, and normative dimensions of sustainability, drawing from comparative, socio-legal, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
The volume will undergo a triple-blind peer review process, ensuring that all submissions meet international academic standards. Accepted authors will have the opportunity to publish with Frank & Timme, a leading academic publishing house recognized for its interdisciplinary legal scholarship.
