The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Centre for Asian Legal Studies (CALS), Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (NUS), is inviting applications for a two-day Faculty Development Workshop on “Teaching Criminal Law: Curriculum, Syllabus & Pedagogy.”
This Faculty Development Workshop marks the inaugural session in NLSIU’s new Faculty Development Workshop Series, designed to advance academic excellence in legal education across India.
The workshop will be conducted on November 15–16, 2025, at the Training Centre, NLSIU Campus, Bengaluru, and is tailored specifically for early-stage academics and law faculty members with up to seven years of teaching experience.
With limited slots available, this is an unparalleled opportunity for legal educators to engage with leading scholars and pedagogical experts from NLSIU, NUS Law, and other Asian institutions.

About the Workshop
The Teaching Criminal Law Workshop aims to build pedagogical capacity among young law academics by providing a platform to share, learn, and reflect on diverse teaching techniques and curricular approaches in substantive criminal law.
This interactive, discussion-driven programme will include lectures, case discussions, breakout sessions, and syllabus design exercises.
Participants will also be introduced to the forthcoming textbook “Criminal Law in India” authored by Mrinal Satish, Stanley Yeo, Wing-Cheong Chan, Michael Hor, and Neil Morgan, along with the Textbook Companion Project initiated by NLSIU.
