About the Opportunity

The School of Maritime Law, Policy & Administration (SMLPA) invites applications from qualified and passionate legal academicians for the following contractual faculty positions:

  1. Professor of Law
  2. Associate Professor of Law (Specializations: Maritime Law / International Law)
  3. Assistant Professor of Law (Specializations: Maritime Law / International Trade Law)

These positions are offered on a contractual basis, as per 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) norms, with remuneration and academic levels commensurate with UGC standards.

Selected candidates will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, mentor students in research, engage in scholarly projects, and contribute to curriculum development and institutional activities at GMU.

Eligibility & Requirements

Professor of Law (Maritime / International Law)

  • Academic Level 14 (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200)
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in university-level institutions or equivalent research experience.
  • Proven record of significant publications in reputed journals and contributions to legal scholarship.
  • Ph.D. in Law or equivalent degree with specialization in Maritime Law or International Law.

Associate Professor of Law (Maritime Law / International Law)

  • Academic Level 13A (₹1,31,400 – ₹2,17,100)
  • Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience at university level.
  • Strong research credentials with publications and conference presentations.
  • Expertise in Maritime or International Law, with ability to mentor students and guide research.

Assistant Professor of Law (Maritime Law / International Trade Law)

  • Academic Level 10 (₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400)
  • LL.M. with specialization in Maritime, International, or Trade Law.
  • Preference for candidates with NET/SET qualification or Ph.D. in Law.
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching, research, and student engagement.
