The National Conference on Climate Justice and Environment Protection is a two-day academic event organized by WBNUJS, Kolkata, scheduled for 30th–31st October 2025.
Themed around “From Environment Protection to Climate Justice: Articulating the Right to be Free From Adverse Impacts of Climate Change in India”, the conference aims to spark legal, academic, and policy discussions around the Supreme Court of India’s recent recognition that freedom from the adverse impacts of climate change forms an essential part of the Right to Life and Equality (Articles 14 and 21).
The event provides a platform for academics, practitioners, researchers, and students to deliberate on the legal, human rights, and governance dimensions of climate change, and to develop frameworks for achieving climate justice in India.
